The wildly popular gas discount app GetUpside has quietly expanded into 40 U.S. states, as well as Washington, DC and Canada. Long limited to select markets on the East Coast, GetUpside is now partnered with gas stations in all corners of North America. As of this writing, the company lists 12,104 participating stations on its website.
Texas leads the pack with 1,999 gas stations offering discounts through the app, and is sure to crack the 2,000 mark at any moment. Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia round out the top five, each with over 750 participating locations.
The company has also made its first foray into Canadian markets, with two locations in Toronto and one in Mississauga.
There’s still a lot of room to grow. Major markets like California are still vastly under-served, with only 83 locations across the entire state, many of them in the Los Angeles area. San Francisco, home to so many early app adopters, still only has one gas station listed.
As GetUpside expands (they recently announced new partnerships with GasBuddy and Checkout 51), they’re sure to reach even more customers domestically and internationally. And with more and more Americans traveling by car throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, the demand for discounts on gas has nowhere to go but up.
